Welcome to the web site of Zorig Foundation, a Mongolian non-profit organization promoting democracy through social action, youth activities, and good governance programs.
Zorig Foundation was formed in October 1998, shortly after the murder of Sanjaasurengin Zorig, the member of the Mongolian Parliament and then Minister for Infrastructure Development.
The foundation is a non-profit, non-governmental organization whose main mission is to advance formation of democratic society and support political reforms in Mongolia.
The principal objectives of the foundation include spreading democratic values in the society, strengthening human rights, freedom and social justice, respecting and promoting pluralism and improving the system of transparency and accountability of state and government to the public.
In order to meet the above objectives, Zorig Foundation concentrates on the following activities:
• Improving political and civic education of young people and their participation in the democratic process
• Raising public awareness in transparency, anti-corruption and political ethics
• Introducing methods of mediating and peaceful resolution of political conflicts
• Participation and contribution towards improvement of legislation on human rights and freedom
• Contributing towards poverty reduction and social justice
