The Zorig Foundation and
Ulaanbaatar – Denver Sister City Committee,
together with the Zorig Foundation USA, started
the School Pairing Program in to connect rural
and urban schools in Mongolia and the United
States. The primary goal of the programs is
to promote cross cultural awareness and understanding
between Mongolian and American high school students,
teachers and administrators. Throughout each
school year, groups of students participate
in activities to develop their language skills,
cultural knowledge and community involvement.
The year-long relationship peaks with an exchange
of students from each school, a culturally enriching
experience that deepens the relationship between
the schools, teachers and students. Since 2005,
the School Pairing Program has been exposing
students to new ideas and new people through
hands-on, once-in-a-lifetime opportunities.
The School Pairing Program has been made possible
through support by the Khan Bank Foundation,
the United States Embassy to Mongolia, Walt
Jenkins, Nancy Luby, and the Denver-Ulaanbaatar
Sister Cities Committee.
The School Pairing Program involves the following
participant schools and students:
